Bringing joy to Starlight kids this Christmas

As part of its partnership with the Starlight Children’s Foundation, Wizard Pharmacy has officially kicked off its 2022 Starlight Giving Tree appeal.

The appeal, which is now in its third year, aims to raise money for sick children and their families at the Starlight Children’s Foundation.

“Our partnership with the Starlight Children’s Foundation is one we all hold very close to our hearts, so it means a lot to the entire Wizard family across our network that we can rally together again and do something special for them,” Wizard Pharmacy Chief Operating Officer Sally Parker said.

“I am already overwhelmed by the generosity of our local communities, and am looking forward to seeing how we all come together to make a difference in the lives of sick children, young people and their families this Christmas with our final result.”

Starlight Children’s Foundation CEO Louise Baxter said that Starlight was excited to celebrate Wizard Pharmacy’s support this festive season.

“Wizard Pharmacies and the entire Wizard community help Starlight bring smiles to sick kids all year round,” Ms Baxter said.

“Christmas is a time for celebrating wonderful friendships, family and children, but for a child facing serious illness, fun and joy are often replaced with pain, fear and stress.

“Starlight exists to brighten the lives of seriously ill children, young people, and their families, helping sick kids experience the fun and laughter of childhood.

“Look out for Wizard Giving Tree and please consider making a donation to bring a little Christmas sparkle and happiness to sick kids and their families,” she said.

To date, Wizard Pharmacy has raised $400,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation across their 12-year partnership.

The funds have granted access for 10,000 children to the Starlight Express Room at the Perth and Darwin Children’s Hospitals for the entire duration of their hospital stays.

Wizard Pharmacy is accepting donations across all 40 pharmacies in Western Australia and the Northern Territory and online until Christmas Eve.
