Nominees announced for Naturally Good 2022 awards

Australia’s most innovative natural health businesses have been announced as nominees for the first-ever Naturally Good 2022 Awards.

The nominee event was held on 29 April in Sydney at the offices of Diversified Communications, producers of the Naturally Good 2022 Expo, and honoured a wide range of key categories.

The winners will be announced at the awards cocktail night on Friday 3 June at Sydney’s ICC.

Sinead Kavanagh, Product Manager for Naturally Good, said the awards team had been inundated with hundreds of entries.

“For a first-time award competition, the calibre was really high,” she said.

“Everything from the ingredients, manufacturing, packaging, brand story and thought behind each product was so put together. It’s really impressive considering naturals is a niche area of the industry.”

Expert judges included Julie Mathers from Flora and Fauna, Nicci Herrera Strategic Advisor at Retail Beauty, Niki Ford CEO of Australian Organic Limited, Shelley McMillan Head of Consulting for Mintel, and Rod Arenas from Food Innovation Australia Limited, and Naturally Good’s Content Manager Lisa Crawford Jones.

Start-up Elato Artisinal Icecreams was the most nominated product this year scoring category mentions for Best Food Product, Best Free From Product, and Best Socially Conscious Brand.

The scalable social impact business dedicates 50% of all its profits to OzHarvest to facilitate the brand’s passion for eradicating world hunger and food waste.

Rob Klein, Head of Marketing, said all of the icecreams which come in three flavours – Triple Vanilla, Cold Brew Decaf and Vegan Dark Chocolate – are very clean using egg yok instead of chemical emulsifiers and have 30 per cent less added sugar.

“We’re so thrilled to be a triple nominee and are really looking forward to being first-time exhibitors at the expo as we’re really eager to tell everyone about the brand and share our messages,” said Mr Klein.

Monica Rivandie, Head of Marketing for The Jojoba Company said the brand was excited to be nominated in the Best Beauty and Cosmetics Product for its Ultimate Eye Serum.

“Jojoba is very moisturising and is very receptive to receiving vital nutrients and antioxidants. This is one of our top five products so to be recognised for it is amazing.”

Meanwhile, Jeff Lunt, CEO of Wild Noni, whose functional beverage was nominated for Best Beverage Product said a win in the category would be a coup for the brand.

“We were first-time exhibitors last year and got some good leads, and great feedback. That led us to relaunch in November with a superfood health product that we believe tastes even better than the original. It would be incredible to win in order to spread the word about something we are so passionate about.”
