Queensland businesses tighten their belts this Christmas

A free digital nutrition program for Queensland businesses is helping staff shed kilograms and finish 2020 feeling fabulous.

Almost 500 workers across Queensland, from start-ups to corporates and not-for-profit organisations, have already signed up to the free Sophus Corporate Nutrition program since it was launched in September.

“Through the Sophus app, individuals can choose the program that best suits them, including Healthy Eating for a Healthy Weight, Nutrition for Remote Workers and Nutrition for Working from Home,” Sophus Accredited Practising Dietitian Amelia Bandera says.

“Participants receive access to regular bite-sized, practical and easy to follow content to help them stay on track with their health and wellbeing goals – it’s like having a dietitian in your pocket.

“The festive season can be a time where we tend to feel weary and are more likely to over-indulge, so it’s wonderful to see 33 businesses from Coolangatta to Cairns and as far west as Longreach supporting their employees through the Sophus Corporate Nutrition Program.”

Ed Barry from Brisbane company, FloodMapp says he’s already lost eight kilos since using the Sophus app.

“The short videos are great to get the most important information I need to make changes and I now feel confident in making better food choices.”

The initiative has been funded through the Queensland Government’s Ignite Ideas program.

Queensland businesses, including sole traders, can still sign up to receive six months access to the Sophus Corporate Nutrition program at https://www.sophus.com.au/qldbusiness.
